Bosc and Bottle

I’m continuing with the idea of doing still life photography during the winter, its a bit more comfortable in my basement than to be outside and besides I am finding this to be more challenging than than I first thought.  Wikipedia says this about still life photography, “Still life photography is a demanding art, one in which the photographers are expected to be able to form their work with a refined sense of lighting, coupled with compositional skills.”  So much for refined lighting, I’d really like to improve this, but I only have one light. Any suggestions?

  1. Use a reflector (or reflective surface) to add a supplementary light bounced off your main light? I love the way the textural pattern in the wall and bottle elides with that of the pears!
