Tree of Life
I was sitting in this Veteran’s Memorial place, and seeing the plaque, I thought of friends and comrades both dead and wounded in Viet Nam. I saw the reflection of the tree behind me in the black marble; and my first I thought was a photographic challenge, but it was more than that. It was a moral challenge! Given the reality of today’s wars it struck me, we’ve learned nothing from our history. Every veteran, having bled or not, is a wounded veteran.
